Oh hello! My name is Leah and I am the lady baker behind afters dessert kitchen! My love affair with baking began about 7 years ago when my severe sweet tooth and mild obsession with Miss Martha Stewart lead me into the kitchen. I started off baking for family functions and weddings and for a few small events here and there. I quickly found that watching someone enjoy a treat that I baked was the best feeling in the world! Afters was born a little over a year ago following a win at a local Irish baking competition. This made me think, “Hey! Maybe I can do this for real!” My charmingly clever sister, Lindsey, came with the name “afters” (Irish slang for desserts) and the rest is history!
When I am not baking away in my kitchen, you can find me teaching 18 wonderful first graders, snuggling with my pugs Finnegan and George Bailey, renovating our 1890’s farm house with Seth (my handsome husband), or crafting up a storm in my elegant new craft room!
